Spring food — what to make in May

A month for disparate food and cultural tradition, tomatillos, gooseberries, loquats, lychee, honeydew, passionfruit and peaches are just entering their seasons in May. And thanks to the celebrations of traditional Asian-Pacific and Jewish food this month everything from matzah and moo ping, roast lamb and canned Spam, challah and huli huli are on dinner tables all throughout the country.
